A Clinical Analysis of Gallstones in Asan Medical Center for 2 Years from June 1989 to May 1991



Abstract
The clinical analysis of 917 cases who had been treated surgically for gallstone disease in Asan Medical Center for 2 years from June 1989 to May 1991 was done according to their location and treatment modalities.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) In case of Gallbladder stones, It has been revealed that Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy was the less invasive, and safe from of treatment modality compared to traditional open cholecystectomy
From this experience, it is expected that Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy sholuld become first-choice of galibadder stone treatment.
2) In cases of intrahepatic bile bile duct stones patients. For the complete removal of the remained stones after operation, choledochoscopic stone removal through T-tube, Elctor hydraulic lithotripsy, Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, as
well as
percutaneous stone removal had been used together. And the success rate o complete stone removal had reached 87.6%.
3) In cases of primary intrahepatic stones associated with stricture of intrahepatic bile ducts, interanal drainage, such as, choledochoduodenostomy and choledochojejunostomy were almost always asociated with early recurrenece of ascending
cholangitis.
In our hospitals, internal drainage operation, which were anastomosed below the striture site have not been performed after 1990.
